Mary M. Zielinski Estate
Mary Zielinski was a single mother of five from Pittsburgh, PA. She started nursing school at the age of 44 with three children still at home, and worked at Saint Francis Hospital in Pittsburgh for 31 years until retiring at 75 years of age. For 20 of those years she was a nurse and finished her career in the Physical and Occupational Therapy department. She was a joy, with a smile that would light up a room, and loved caring for her patients. WC employee Debbie Alexander established this scholarship to honor her mother’s memory, knowing that she would have received tremendous joy out of seeing others utilize this opportunity to serve in the medical field.
